Smilee Privacy Policy
Overview
At Smilee, we believe that all families using our service should be confident in the security of their data.
There are a few instances where specific individuals may access your data. In all of these situations, we only allow access to the minimum amount of data necessary, and we always apply strict measures to keep your data safe and your privacy protected. We don’t sell your data to any third parties, even in the form of anonymized statistical data.
What other personal data does Smilee collect?
In addition to the information you provide to us, we may also collect data from your device. This might include your operating system, device ID, IP address, Smilee usage log, etc.
There are also a few instances where we collect information from other platforms. This might include ad performance data from marketing platforms and Smilee usage information from analytics platforms.
If you choose to order products or services through our app, we receive purchase information for that order from payment platforms. We may also receive your shipping information from another person if they order you a gift through the app. Such EC capability on Smilee is build in the future.
Why does Smilee collect my data
We collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide the following:
- Our services
- User support
- Cyberattack protection
- Marketing analytics
- Marketing activities
Privacy data for planed services
In the future, We may provide local Kids related services like fun events, shops and other entertainments. For preparing these services, we started to collect geolocation informations.
- Please note that we only use realy rough geolocation information. A user’s IP address and Exif Information from images are stored in our dateabase.
- Users may be able to disable these location data.
Main purpose of collecting data.
- Authorized employees or affiliates to provide customer support, operate our services, investigate security issues, or improve the app.
- Manufacturers and service providers to fulfill orders for products/services ordered through the app. Our contracts clearly state that your information can only be used for the fulfillment of your order and must be deleted after.
- Secure and trusted payment service providers to process payment for products/services ordered through the app. We do not store payment information. (EC Service is planned in/out Smilee)
- Secure infrastructure vendors to store our data and other service providers to analyze app usage, etc.
- Law enforcement bodies to comply with legal requests.
- Other people invited to your album by you or your partner will be able to access some information that you’ve provided, like your child’s nickname.
Collecting to share any third parties
We may share information that is collected from you or your child as follows:
Authorized third-party vendors. We may share information with our third-party vendors to help us evaluate, develop and improve the Services, including performing usage analytics and data processing.
Business transfers. We may share information in connection with a substantial business transaction, such as the sale of the Services, a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.
Legal purposes. We do not rent or sell information to third parties, but we may disclose information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries, and to protect and defend the rights, interests, property, safety, and security of PBS, our member stations, users, or the public.
With your consent. We otherwise may share your or your child’s information with your consent.
More care to parents. Additional information regarding parental consent, access, and deletion
As SmileeS does not collect personal information, we are not able to identify your child and therefore are not able to fulfill modification, access, correction, deletion, or portability requests.
If SmileeS ever does in the future collect, use or disclose personal information from your child, we will endeavor to obtain a parent or legal guardian’s consent before doing so or otherwise comply with law. We will not keep this personal information for longer than necessary. Parents or legal guardians may also contact us to ask if we have collected their child’s personal account information, to review that information, if any, and request that SmileeS stop collecting this information and have it deleted. Such requests are subject to SmileeS verifying to our satisfaction that the requester is in fact the child’s parent or legal guardian.
